OTTO TILES VISUAL IDENTITY
Otto Tiles & Design produces unique handmade Turkish tiles from its facilities in Istanbul and London. The firm’s core aesthetic blends Anatolian and Western influences, creating a fresh take on several long-standing design vernaculars.
I was approached to develop a clean, contemporary visual identity for Otto Tiles’ packaging, literature, and other brand assets. Drawing on the firm’s most enduringly popular designs, I crafted a visual pattern that conveys Otto Tiles’ bold, clean, yet deceptively intricate aesthetic.
I first applied this pattern to a mailing box used to send samples to clients of Otto Tiles. The box is specifically designed as a durable and handsome storage solution whose usefulness and brand reinforcement can last far beyond its first use.
The mailing box includes a brochure welcoming clients to Otto Tiles and describing the samples contained within, and informational stickers to be applied to the back of each tile.
I also designed a digital brochure offering a broad introduction to Otto Tiles and its product lines.
Next, Otto Tiles enlisted me to create an ad for Elle Decoration magazine; the ad measurably boosted sales enquiries.
I also designed a label for Otto Tiles’ tile-cleaning product line, which is only sold at the company’s showroom.
The new visual identity appears in promotional items such as this tote bag, given to guests at a party celebrating the opening of Otto Tiles’ new facility.
An email announcing the opening celebration also reflected Otto Tiles’ new brand identity.
